To do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of dog shows, performance events, and to encourage sportsmanlike competition.

To conduct, under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club, dog shows, and obedience trials and sanctioned matches or Canine Good Citizen test,  competition trials .
